Our Journey So Far...
Over the last five years we have successfully established a base in Aberdeenshire which can offer individuals suffering from mental health issues the opportunity to speak to trained volunteers when they most need it.
Shirley's Space is a free walk-in centre, offering individuals the ability to have a discreet and non-stigmatising route to potential help.
Within the facility are trained counselors and volunteers who will offer users an opportunity to discuss their issues and arrange a plan to prevent the problem growing.
We know that it is a big step to reach out and talk, but we are here for you if you just need a chat; someone to listen; or simply a little 'timeout' to collect your thoughts and breathe.
Stay strong, we are here.
Errol Watt of the Sticky Trifle Podcast meets with Shirley's Space's Manager Fiona Weir and talks about her life, losses and why she is our beating heart at the hub.
At Shirley's Space we have helped many adults in the area overcome mental health issues over the last few years. We can help you too - please contact us or share or details with someone you think may benefit from our lifesaving services.
“I was in a bad place with depression. When I was put in touch with Shirley's Space, this gave me the chance to speak in my darkest hour. I don't think I would be here without them. I now have direction in my life and hope that anybody who needs help reaches out to Shirley's Space.”
“I go along the Men's Night on Thursday from 7pm and I feel a weight is lifted when I leave the building. We have a laugh, but most importantly we TALK.”
